When it comes to whitening your teeth, Dr. Homayoun H. Zadeh and associates can help whether you want a brighter smile immediately or gradually. At Brighton Specialty Dental Group we use the ZOOM whitening system in Ventura, California, which breaks up the stains not just on your tooth enamel but within the tooth as well. You can relax at our office while our team whitens your teeth by up to eight shades. The ZOOM take home system allows you to a special gel which can lighten your smile around six shades over the course of several nights. You can have a brand new smile by the end of a weekend. If you would like to visit us for an in-office treatment or for your take-home whitening kit, call 805-644-5284 today to plan your appointment.
There are a number of things that can result in a dimmer smile. Aging, lifestyle choices and certain foods and beverages can cause your smile to darken. Teeth that have yet to erupt can be darkened by tetracycline, antibiotics or too much fluoride.
The ZOOM system is safe for most people over the age of 13, since it is done under the supervision of Dr. Zadeh. If you are pregnant or lactating, you may have to wait to begin treatment. The treatment is very effective, but results can vary from person to person. Many people have found that the ZOOM system works much more quickly than products purchased online or over the counter.
An in-office treatment will take approximately an hour. It is usually a very comfortable experience for our patients, but you may experience temporary increased sensitivity in your teeth. During your visit, our dentists will first protect the soft tissues in your mouth and then apply the ZOOM gel. This gel contains hydrogen peroxide which, when exposed to light allows oxygen to enter the enamel and dentin of your tooth which breaks up the stains making them harder to see.
If you opt for the take-home system you will wear your customized tray containing the gel for around four to eight hours. When you come in for your kit, our dentists will review the steps with you.
